3. Purposes and legal bases of processing

We process personal data on the following legal bases in accordance with Article 6 GDPR:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): where processing is necessary to provide you with the functionality of the Blina Family app (e.g. storing and displaying your family and financial data).
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): for example, to ensure the secure and stable operation of the app and website, for error analysis and to prevent misuse.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): where you explicitly consent to specific processing (e.g. optional features, newsletters in the future).
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): where we are legally required to retain certain data (e.g. tax retention obligations if, in the future, paid subscriptions are invoiced via Blina).

4. Storage location and duration

The data of the Blina Family app is stored on a modern cloud infrastructure provided by Google Firebase (Google Cloud). The systems are configured so that the data is hosted in data centers in Germany. For technical service delivery, we use providers that are contractually bound to follow our instructions regarding data processing (Art. 28 GDPR).

As a rule, we store personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or for as long as we are required to do so by law. If you delete your account or certain information in the app, this data will be deleted or anonymised within the technical possibilities.

5. Recipients and processors

To provide the app and website, we use service providers (processors), for example for hosting, databases, e-mail delivery or error analysis. These providers process data exclusively in accordance with our instructions and on the basis of contracts in line with Article 28 GDPR.

Your personal data is only transferred to third parties if this is necessary for contract performance, if there is a legal obligation, or if you have given your consent.

6. Data transfers to third countries

If we use service providers located outside the European Union or the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure that an adequate level of protection is guaranteed – for example through adequacy decisions of the European Commission or by using standard contractual clauses.

Wherever possible, we choose settings that prioritise data storage within the EU and, in particular, in German data centres.

7. Your rights as a data subject

Under the GDPR you have various rights with regard to your personal data. In particular:

  • Right of access to the personal data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”, Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Right to object to certain processing operations, in particular where processing is based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law (Art. 77 GDPR).

You can contact us at any time by e-mail to exercise these rights: info@blina-family.com.

We take technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access or unauthorised disclosure. These measures include, for example, authorisation and access control concepts as well as the use of encryption where appropriate.

However, no data transmission over the internet or via apps can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure. We regularly review and improve our security measures.

Blina Family is primarily intended for families where adults manage the accounts. If children or teenagers use the app, this should always take place in agreement with those holding parental responsibility.
